# How to configure an Algo 8450 IP Console with an Algo 8188 IP Ceiling Speaker

Access the 8450 web interface by entering its IP address into a browser (default password: algo).

Set Multicast Mode: Navigate to Basic Settings \> Multicast.
Enable Master/Sender: Set the Multicast Mode to Transmitter (Sender).
Define Zones: Configure a multicast IP address (e.g., 224.0.2.1) and port (e.g., 50001) for your primary paging zone.
Configure Buttons: Use the touchscreen interface to assign these multicast zones to physical buttons for live voice or emergency alerts.

3\. Configure the Algo 8188 (Receiver)
Access the 8188 web interface via its IP address.

Set Multicast Mode: Navigate to Basic Settings \> Multicast.
Enable Slave/Receiver: Set the Multicast Mode to Slave/Receiver.
Match Settings: Enter the exact Multicast IP address and port defined in the 8450 (e.g., 224.0.2.1:50001).
Save: Click Save. The speaker will now automatically play any audio broadcast from the 8450 on that address.

Key Benefits of This Configuration
SIP Survivability: Paging and alerts remain functional even if your phone system or internet connection goes down.
No Licenses: You do not need SIP endpoint licenses or a PBX to operate this local system.
Scalability: One 8450 can broadcast to an unlimited number of 8188 speakers simultaneously
