# How do I configure Algo & Cyberdata Emergency Paging / Broadcast-Multicast

ALGO & CYBERDATA CONFIGURATION
\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*

The Receivers:
The Algo 8301 (connected to your main amplifier), Algo 8420 (IP Display/Speaker), Algo 8196 (IP Ceiling Speaker), and Algo 8128 (Visual Strobe Light) will be configured to "listen" to a high-priority emergency multicast address.

The Transmitters:
Both the Algo 8450 IP Console and the CyberData Emergency Button will be configured to "broadcast" to that same high-priority address.

Step 1:
Establish Your Emergency Multicast Channel:
Choose a dedicated multicast IP address and port that is not in use elsewhere on your network.
Recommended Emergency Channel: 224.0.2.1:50001

Step 2:
Configure the Receivers (Algo 8301, 8420, 8196, 8128)
You must set up your endpoint devices to dynamically switch on their audio (and visual flashes) when an emergency transmission occurs.

-Log into the web interface of each Algo receiving device (8301, 8420, 8196, 8128)
-Navigate to Basic Settings -\> Multicast.Set the Multicast Mode to Receiver.
-Look at the Receiver Type / Priority Matrix. Find Priority 1 (Highest).
-Configure Priority 1 with your emergency channel:IP Address: 224.0.2.1Port: 50001
-Set the Polycom Zone / Channel to None/Basic (unless using a Poly environment).
-For the 8420 & 8196 Speakers: Ensure the "Volume" for Priority 1 is set to maximum. For the 8128 Strobe: Choose an aggressive flash pattern (e.g., fast red) to fire off when this priority is activated.
Click Save.

Step 3:
-Configure Transmitter #1: (Algo 8450 IP Console)The Algo 8450 needs a dedicated touchscreen button to manually fire the alert and broadcast your live voice.
-Log into the Algo 8450 Web GUI.Navigate to Basic Settings -\> Multicast.
-Set the device Multicast Mode to Transmitter.
-Define your zone channel under Transmitter Zones:

-Zone 1 Tag: Emergency Lockdown:IP Address: 224.0.2.1Port: 50001
-Go to Basic Settings -\> Display (or Buttons) to assign it to the screen.
-Select an available touchscreen button grid slot and choose:Action Type: Start Emergency Alert or Mic MulticastTarget Zone:
-Zone 1 (Emergency Lockdown)Button Label: EMERGENCY ALERTClick Save. Pressing this button will now push audio to your network.

Step 4:
-Configure Transmitter #2 (CyberData Emergency Button)
Because your CyberData device is a one-button panic switch, it does not have a microphone for outbound live talking.
It will be programmed to push a pre-recorded emergency audio file to the multicast channel when slapped

-Log into the CyberData Panic Button web interface.
-Navigate to the Multicast or Paging tab.
-Look for the Multicast Transmitter / Outbound Paging fields.
-Input your emergency destination parameters:
-Multicast IP: 224.0.2.1 Port: 50001
-Go to the Device Configuration / Audio settings.
-Upload your desired emergency alert WAV file (e.g., a siren track or a recorded "Lockdown, take shelter" message).
-Set the button press action to Play and Loop Audio File via Multicast.Click Save and reboot the device

Step 5: Setting up the Inbound Voice Page:
-Your request notes that all devices (except the CyberData panic button) should also receive a standard voice paging message through their speakers.
-On the Algo 8301, 8420, and 8196 units, go back to Basic Settings -\> Multicast.
-Go further down the priority matrix to a lower priority slot (e.g., Priority 3).
-Assign a generic paging multicast address: IP Address: 224.0.2.5 Port: 50005
-On the Algo 8450 Console, configure a second touchscreen button mapped to send to 224.0.2.5:50005 labeled Daily Page.

Because the Emergency Alert (224.0.2.1) is configured at Priority 1, if a standard background page is happening on Priority 3:
CyberData button or the emergency console trigger, the Algo endpoints will instantly cut off the daily announcement and force-play the emergency alert instead.
